Next week June 7th is Annual Day. Please send your kids in nice Indian dress. Also they should arrive by 10:45 a.m.

This week we did song "Chote chote pav" I think pg 43 in folder. Then we revised body parts and had lot of fun doing "sar kandhe ghutane pav".We were busy preparing for annual day.

Kids were suppose to say 2 lines in hindi which none of them remember to practice in home. They were making it up when there turn came (only very few had practiced).

I hope that you received my email I sent. This weeks homework was to finish name the parts of body. In hindi hour this week we learnt about the body parts adn in cultural hour we learnt all about the festival Ganesh Chathurthi.  Please do ask kids some questions about the same.

Dear All,
 
This week in the Hindi hour, we revisied all the previous lesson which were names of family members, counting from 1 to 10, parts of body. This week we learnt counting from 11 to 20 and also 10 basic colors. Please put these lessons into every day use and encourage your kids to use the hindi words they know instead of English.
 
In Cultural hour we learnt more about festivals. Today we learnt about Eid and Rakhi. Kids also made Rakhi's in the class.
 
Home work for next week is to learn the numbers from 11 to 20 and color the coloring page for colors(I think page 10) in the folder.
 
I will also send the email, please email me if you are not reciving the email.

Cultural Hour
Lat week for our cultural lesson we did Halloween parade based on Indian costumes. Kids were very creative and they had a chance to talk about their costumes. It was lot of fun.

This Saturday is Gurukul Diwalli celebrations(Dandiya), so please be sure to bring the dandiya's that kids decorated in the class. There is no Gurukul on Sunday.

Hindi Hour
Hello Parents,
 
This week we learned about vegetables. We also did poem on vegetables (I think pg44).
Please encourage kids to tell vegetables names in hindi when you are cooking.
 
Homework: Write 5 different colors of vegetables.

Hindi homework
Namaste Parents,
 
This week in hindi we learned Days of the week/Saptaah ke din
 
We learned hindi rhyme sar kandhe(pg 39) kids had blast doing this rhyme in action.
 
Also we learned new rhyme :
"Aaj mangalvaar hai
Chuhe ko bukaar hai
Chuha gaya doctor ke pas
Doctor ne lagayi sui
Chuha bola uue"

(roughly translated 'today is tuesday, the rat has fever, it went to the doctor, the doctor gave it an injection and it said uue')

 
For homework
1) Please complete excercise-Days of Week(pg 24).
2) Fill in the blanks
   i)  ----- aur ------ chutti ke din hote hai.
      (---- and ----- are days of holidays)
   ii) Gurukul ------ ko hota hai.
       (Gurukul is on -------)
   iii) Suraj ------ mai nikalta hai.
       (Sun rises in -----)
 
PS: There will be no class on next sunday Nov 30th its Thanksgiving holiday.
