Today we reviewed everything we had learnt in previous classes. Kids came up with names to their teams (Hara, Neela, Gulabi) and had a blast participating in a quiz. We reviewed Indus Valley civilization, Mahatma Gandhi, Mauryas, Ashoka, timelime (BC vs. AD) and related facts.

 

We continued our discussion on some of the empires in India (Maurya, Vardhana, Gupta, Chola, Pulikeshi.. ), talked about Nalanda University, strength of Harshavardhana, Naval powers of Raja Raja Chola.

 

We moved onto understanding why many invaders and visitors have always been interested in India for many centuries. We talked about Alexander the great, Aristotle and Paurav.

 

Next Week we will continue this discussion.

 

Finally, when it was time to wrap up the class the kids shouted "No... we want to continue". It was really a good feeling to both Rekhaji and myself. Thank you for your interest and commitment in sending the kids to these classes.

Introduce to new letters ka,kha and practiced counting

1. Practiced to speek 6 scentences in hindi

2. counted till 40 in hindi

3. guessing the name of the animals by clues.

We had a engaging cultural hour last week. We talked about languages, rivers, himalays, Taj Mahal, different languages, difference b/w Indian and Native Indians. We discussed Indus Valley civilization, the villages of Harappa & Mohanjadaro. One of the kids told us the wonderful story of Shakuntala and Bharat. We talked about the different names for India and the sources of these names.
